Alliance Credit Union Merger Announcement

Dear valued member,

I am writing to share some exciting news: Alliance Credit Union of Florida will be merging with Self-Help Credit Union, effective June 1, 2025.

In our search for a merger partner, we were looking for an institution that could offer robust member service, strong finances, and a deep commitment to community. We're thrilled to have found all that and more in Self-Help Credit Union.

I hope you will join me in celebrating this exciting new path forward for Alliance Credit Union and our members.

What's changing for you?

In short: better rates and more options.

Over the next few months, you'll see:

  • Increased rates on deposits
  • The elimination of NSF (non-sufficient funds) fees and overdraft fees
  • The return of Home Equity Lines of Credit

As the merger transition continues later this year and into early 2026, you will have access to an expanded suite of financial services, including financial coaching, 0% down payment home loans, electric vehicle loans, and more. You will also be able to bank in any of Self-Help Credit Union's nearly 40 branches across the Southeast.

What's not changing?

For now, your everyday banking experience will stay the same. Your online and mobile banking login will remain the same, and you will continue to use your current credit and debit cards and account numbers. Any direct deposits or automatic payments you currently have will continue to work without interruption.

Changes to various operational systems will happen early next year as the merger transition unfolds, and we will notify you of them well in advance. So, please be on the lookout for future communications from Self-Help Credit Union via mail and email.

Also not changing is our commitment to you. It has been our privilege to serve the Gainesville community for more than 80 years, and we are elated to continue that work as part of Self-Help Credit Union.
